Abu Dhabi’s Al Masaood opens Flydubai shop

Abu Dhabi-based Al Masaood Travel & Services has teamed up with budget carrier Fly Dubai to open a Flydubai-branded travel shop in the UAE capital.

Flydubai’s CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith said the LCC had entered the partnership to provide customers with an alternative booking channel to its website.

“Some people like the travel agent experience when booking flights, preferring to have someone talk them through their options,” he said.

“By opening a dedicated Flydubai Travel Shop in Abu Dhabi, we are making Flydubai even more convenient and accessible to passengers across the UAE encouraging them to travel more often.

“Through tying up with Al Masaood Travel& Services we can benefit from their expertise and experience in Abu Dhabi. We already operate the Flydubai bus service with them and the travel shop was the next logical step in our expansion in the emirate.

Al Ghaith confirmed that “the partnership would develop” with further openings but did not say how many new travel shops were targeted.

Masaood Ahmed Al Masaood, chairman, Al Masaood Travel & Services added: “Teaming up with Flydubai to open a dedicated Travel Shop was a natural next step in our existing partnership and we look forward to many successful months to come.”
The new retail outlet is located on Al Nasr Street in Abu Dhabi. Passengers can go there to book and pay for Flydubai flights, amend an existing booking and add optional extras. A dedicated bus service will also pick up and drop off passengers in front of the new shop in Abu Dhabi and transport them to Terminal 2 in Dubai.
